Hack Your Closet: Go Vertical Now!

Tips to Keep Your Small Wardrobe Neat?

Personal Hook

I’ll never forget the day I realized my shoebox-sized closet was a messy disaster. It was like a game of Tetris, but instead of blocks, it was t-shirts and hoodies going every which way. My partner walked in and said, “Uh, is this some sort of minimalist art project?” Yeah, not exactly.

The Realization

So, I set out to conquer the chaos. First, I took everything out (yes, everything – don’t judge me). Then, I sorted items into three piles: what I loved and used regularly, what I liked but didn’t wear as often, and what could be donated or tossed. It was liberating!

The Hack

Here’s the clever part: utilize your vertical space! On my top level, I hang my fancy dresses – the ones that get a hard pass from me most days. For the rest (hoodies, tees, and trousers), I made use of those teeny-tiny three-level cabinets you can find anywhere (40cm × 100cm). Folded t-shirts or sweaters fit in there perfectly! On my bottom level, I keep an open space for folding items or placing my favorite accessories. It’s a game-changer!

Reflection

Life changed? More like sanity returned. My daily routine went from “where did I put that shirt?” to “oh, it’s right here on the second shelf.” Okay, maybe not life-changing, but it was definitely a wardrobe-saver.

Funny Fail Moment: I once tried using those over-the-door shoe organizers for my top-level dresses – let’s just say it didn’t end well. Imagine trying to hang a silky dress and accidentally hooking your favorite earrings instead…
