Wake Up Fresher with These Secret Hacks
Personal Hook
I used to be a daily smoker, but now my couch cushions are my biggest nemesis. Every time I snubbed an afternoon nap for another puff, I’d inevitably end up with a lingering aroma on my throw blankets and pillows.
The Realization
One day, as I was frantically washing all my belongings (yes, it was that serious), I stumbled upon the genius idea to refresh my bed mattress and pillows. It wasn’t just about getting rid of any potential weed smell; I genuinely wanted a good night’s sleep without those pesky hangover headaches.
The Hack
De-weeding your pillows and mattress is easier than you think! Here’s what I did:
First, take out the covers or pillowcases and toss them in the washing machine. Make sure to check if they’re machine washable before doing so.
For the pillows themselves, place them in a trash bag with 1-2 cups of baking soda. Seal the bag, shake it up like you mean it, then let it sit overnight. In the morning, take out the pillows and vacuum thoroughly.
As for the mattress, sprinkle 1 cup of baking soda all over its surface. Let it sit for about an hour to absorb any lingering smells or odors. Then, vacuum the entire area using your trusty vacuum cleaner.
Funny Fail Moment
I once tried using essential oils thinking they’d be a game-changer in neutralizing smoke scents. Let’s just say my living room smelled more like a spa than a fresh start… until I accidentally knocked over an oil bottle and spilled it everywhere! Who needs a diffuser when you have a clumsy best friend, am I right?
Reflection
After using this hack, I slept like a baby for the first time in ages. It’s funny how something as simple as de-weeding your bed can make such a big difference in getting a good night’s rest. Now if only I could find a way to “refresh” my social life after quitting weed…
