Ditch the Apps: Unlock Epic Productivity

Deleted all my productivity apps and somehow got my shit together

Personal Hook
I used to be that friend who spent weekends building the perfect productivity system, only to ditch it by Tuesday. It was like, hello, I’m not a project manager, I just want to get stuff done! But despite the best of intentions, those fancy apps had me in a cycle of setup and abandonment.

The Realization

I finally hit rock bottom (or should I say, rock productivity) when I deleted all my apps. At first, I was like, “What have I done? How will I survive without Todoist?” But little did I know, that’s exactly what I needed – a wake-up call to get real with myself.

The Hack

So here’s the hack: ditch those fancy apps and go back to basics. Literally. Write stuff on sticky notes, move them around, and put ’em where you’ll see ’em. I use physical cards now – just wallet-sized ones that I stick in places like my desk or keyboard (because let’s face it, who ignores a card sitting there?). It’s super simple, but trust me, it works.

The Hack (continued)

The beauty of this hack is that there’s no setup time, no complicated workflows to maintain. Just grab a pen and some paper, and you’re good to go. Plus, the physical cards have a way of keeping you accountable – who wants to ignore a reminder stuck on their keyboard? Been doing this for a few months now, and I’m getting more done than when I had 5 different apps tracking everything.

Funny Fail Moment

I once tried using a whiteboard calendar, thinking it’d be the perfect solution. Big fail – my cat thought it was a personal canvas. Don’t even get me started on the ‘art’ it left behind.

Reflection

And honestly, I’m not alone in this realization. Who else has gone back to analog stuff? What works for you? Let’s chat about it over coffee (or a sticky note, haha).
